Day 1 - Arrival
After arriving at JFK airport, you will travel to Mid-Town Manhattan and check in at the Hilton Garden Inn by Central Park South at Mid-Town West. In New York City, even a trip from the airport can be epic.
Day 2 - Architecture
We begin the adventure in bustling Manhattan. New York is where the stage is set for the greatest romance of your life. Of course, the love affair is with the city itself. This is where places like Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, The Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building have become epic landmarks known world wide. Along with us for our architecture day will be famed Instagram NYC Instagram photographer Zahava. Her perspective of New York City have earned her 80K followers and counting. We'll show you you some of the best "Kodak" photo spots that aren't listed on any map and how to best take advantage of them. (the one to the right of the Flatiron Building was taken from on top of a rock) The city hides many secrets and this local photographer knows many of them.
Day 3 - Street Style
Robbie Quinn will lead the way starting on the infamous 5th Avenue for a day of street style photography. We'll move our way through Manhattan's fashion districts finding interesting subjects which abound on the streets of New York. We will explore some of the different approaches from Brandon Stanton's Faces of New York style to the intrusive style of Magnum photographer Bruce Gilden. During our travels, we'll have the chance to stop and shoot Tziporah Salamon, a NYC fashion icon, who has appeared in ads for Target, has been in the documentary Advanced Style and who has been photographed by NY Times fashion columnist Bill Cunningham more times than can be counted.
Mid day, lunch will be at one of my personal favorite places to grab a Lobster Roll.
Day 4 - Fashion
Alex Vinash is one of Fashions hottest emerging designers. He has had his work in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Elle and his fashion line has received critical acclaim through showings in Europe, runway shows at the New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Boston fashion weeks. On day 4 Alex will discuss what he looks for in a photographer and what goals he's looking to accomplish with catalogue, look book and editorial shoots. We'll also have the opportunity to shoot some of his designs with some NYC models.
Day 5 - Editing
On this day, in the morning we will meet at a Chelsea photo/film production studio to look at some images from the week and concentrate on editing techniques in both Lightroom and Photoshop. I'll share with you my suggested workflow process and how to get the most out of your images.
After lunch, you're encouraged to venture out on your own to continue shooting street style and architecture. There will also be some suggestions for night shooting opportunities that would include live music photography.
Day 6 - Reviews
On this final day, We'll start the morning once again at the Chelsea photo/film production studio. Each participant will submit 9 images, 3 from each category of shooting. We'll ask each presenter to describe why their images are meaningful to them. Through this exercise, we'll all see how we're able to look at the same subject and notice different thoughts and feelings and ways to express them. This shared experience should give us a better perspective on our strengths and insight as to what we want to develop.
After lunch we'll venture out on foot to explore some more of Lower Manhattan and finish out the evening at one of the many East Village's speak easy's.

$5,195
Price is per person, double occupancy. For a single room, add $1,800 in 2016 and $1,900 in 2017. International airfare to/from New York City is not included in the tour cost. Only meals specifically noted are included.
